Rudy Giuliani Thrives on Fear, Terror
A nation in crisis, a world in turmoil, America needs … an idiot. Sorry, but do Rudy’s campaign people really think those fear tactics are still going to work on us? Do they think Osama with a rifle is going to scare us into electing a warmonger?
Rudy Giuliani has a new ad in New Hampshire and Florida, the only two January states left that he’s contesting. The ad’s message is simple, and shows just how blatant the Rudy campaign has become in their appeals to fear — that if we don’t vote for Rudy, we’ll be vulnerable to Osama Bin Laden, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the people who assassinated Benazir Bhutto, and every other radical Muslim villain out there.
Michael Moore points out that Rudy is as guilty as any liberal ever was of flip-flopping as well. He has shifted his rhetoric somewhat from 911 to more general concerns about terrorism but the bottom line remains the same: he isn’t running on a platform of positive change, but rather on the hope that he can drive fear into the hearts of Americans.
